The Art of the Cover-upCover up tattoos do require a little more creativity and a lot of careful thought. However, there is is point in covering an old tattoo with something that you don't like or want. Because of this we generally ask you to start thinking about your coverup as if it is not there. In other words, what would you have in that place if you did not have to cover an old tattoo?
We also generally ask that you give a general idea of what you like and not be too specific. Let your artist have an element of freedom to work the old tattoo into the new one. Old ink cannot be removed by tattooing new ink over the top of it, in other words, the new image must use parts of the old image to disguise it . Be aware that the new tattoo will need to be Bigger than the old one and in certain cases it may be best to have the old tattoo lightened with laser removal. (Please note that Vellum Tattoo does not offer this service). |
